The "Data Gazette" idea is great, I've been thinking through a similar project for a while. What kind of content seemed to be the most powerful? Did you roll in weekly metrics summaries, or was it more "platform updates", or both?

Oh that's a good question... One thing I didn't mention here was that we migrated the newsletter to MailChimp, which meant that I was able to see which links our readers were engaging most with. There was a separate KPI report that went out just to the exec team because it also contained financial information, but when we got the non-restricted company KPIs into a Looker dashboard, we would include those in the Data Gazette as well. Content wise it really depended on what people in the company were talking about...and whether or not the analysis had some really interesting impactful things to say. Having a snazzy headline definitely helped as well ;)

It is curious how as data managers are getting to the same conclusions and initiatives. IMHO getting trust in data and data products is the most challenging one. I found out that doing small prototypes and assign one data customer/colleague as a PoC gives ownership that eventually translates to trust. Now we are assigning one for each main data project.
